Questions
What should I upload?
WAV, MP3 and M4A all work. One track per person works best, since we can fix levels and noise for each speaker, but a single mixed file is fine too. If you have an intro and outro, upload those as well.
How long does it take?
Your episode joins the queue as soon as it’s uploaded, and we email you when it’s ready. When the queue is busy, the page shows how many episodes are ahead of yours.
Who does the editing?
Mostly automated tools, tuned against how experienced podcast hosts edit their own shows. Taste is personal, which is why you hear the whole edit before paying anything.
Which languages do you edit?
Our editing is tuned for Mandarin Chinese conversations, including the English words people mix in. Recording in another language? Email us before you upload.
What if I don’t like the edit?
Then don’t pay; unpaid episodes cost nothing. You can also leave notes on the transcript, and after payment we revise based on them. Every version can be downloaded.
How is the price calculated?
By the length of your longest track, at $0.30 per minute, rounded up to the next minute. The number of speakers or tracks doesn’t change the price, and neither does how much we cut. You’re charged in US dollars.
Can I get a refund?
Because you hear the full edit before paying, payments are generally non-refundable. If we can’t deliver for reasons on our side, or where the law requires it, we refund that episode. Duplicate or incorrect payments are refunded automatically. See our refund policy.
Is my audio safe?
We use it only to edit your show. It’s never published, and we don’t use your recordings to train models. If an episode isn’t paid for within — hours of the edit being ready, the recordings and edits are deleted automatically. Paid episodes can be deleted any time on request.
